How To Apply

PLEASE NOTE: NO CURRENT FELLOWSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR SENIOR, POSTDOCTORAL OR GRADUATE CANDIDATES

Application Materials Needed:

  1. CV or resume;
  2. contact information (name, phone number, email, affiliation) for at least three professional references (NOTE: while actual letters of reference are welcomed, they are not required);
  3. a statement of research interests (this may take the form of a 1-2 page letter, in which an applicant describes past research experience and future research interests);
  4. the name and contact information of the researcher or researchers at NIST with whom the applicant is interested in working.

Finding A Research Project at NIST

  1. Applicants can find out more about NIST research areas by going to the NIST website.
  2. Applicants can also find a detailed list of specific research opportunities at the National Academies Research Associateship Program's NRC website. (NOTE: The NIST-ARRA Fellowship Program at the University of Maryland is not affiliated with the RAP or the National Academies; we will not receive applications submitted via the NRC website.)
